The family of the Pakistan journalist Arshad Sharif who was killed 2 years ago has been awarded Sh 10 million by the court as compensation.
Justice Stella Mutuku has ordered state to pay Sharif’s family for his death in Kenya.
Justice Mutuku ruled that the killing of Arshad Sharif was unconstitutional addin that his rights to life and protection were violated.
However, the court suspended the decision after the state made an application to suspend it for 30 days to allow them appeal
In the case, the family moved to court suing the government for their son’s killing arguing that he had the right to be protected
