Magistrate Martha Nazushi ruled that the application by the DCI was merited and allowed police to detain the suspects for 10 more days.

According to police Musyoka presented herself as Charity who is late and she was on the company of Benard Kipchirchir Rutto who has also been detained.

It is alleged that they went to Britam Towers on February 1, 2024 and availed themselves to make a redemption of Sh 3.5 million belonging to the late Charity Chepkosgei Ngetich after Lilian pretended to be the deceased.

Police had asked court to allow them detain the two for 14 days to allow them complete investigations.

According to police, after they presented themselves, Britam Assest Managers sensed malice from the two suspects and reported the matter to the DCI, Capital Markets Fraud Investigations where investigations commenced.

The DCI told court that at the time of arrest, Musyoka pretended to be the deceased Charity Chepkosgei Ngetich while Kipchirchir did not have any Identification document hence they need more time to verify their identity.

The court was further told that the DCI are were also yet to visit the home of deceased Charity Chepkosgei Ngetich in Uasin Gishu County for investigations on how the two are linked to her.
