In an affidavit filed in court, Chao says he hs been a legal resident of Kenya since late 2011 carrying out business in Kenya and East Africa.

“Currently I have business that I run in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda with contractual obligations with the respective government and I cannot abscond from the said business,” Chao says.

He further says that he is the sole director of Entec Technology Company which is involved in consultancy, importation of goods across the world and exportation of avocadoes.

“I wish to point out that the allegations of tax evasion are not against me as a individual but against the company in Rwanda and were generated out of fraudulent allegations by persons known to ne through interference with the online tax system,” reads court documents.

He has denied allegations that he was restricted to leave Uganda saying he legally left Uganda to carry on his business in Kenya until he received information from his family which was urgent and necessitated his immediate travel home to Chine.

Chao says this year alone he has travelled to China six times with his most recent trip being on November 1 and each time he retuned back to Kenya.

“Prior to my last trip to China, I had visited the Interpol office and was aware of the investigations into the allegations and I returned with the intention of attending summons on December 7 in Uganda,” Chao says.

Chao claims that the complainant in Rwanda Hu Zheheng is a former employee whom I instated both criminal and civil cases in Uganda where his personal assets were embezzled thus, he says this is a malicious attempt to frustrate his pursuit of justice.

He further says the project in question was completed to the satisfaction of the procuring entity King Faisal Hospital Rwanda and they were issued with a handover certificate.
