The prosecution has today made a historical charge sheet by preferring 223 counts in one single chargesheet for the 9 accused persons in the NIS Sacco graft case.

In the 57-page charge sheet, the prosecution has listed down several offenses against the nine which include Conspiracy to commit a felony, forgery, negligence and stealing.

The suspect includes Nicodemus Masea, Amos Kipchumba, Caren Chebet, Karen Kepkemoi, Daniel Mberia, Violet Wali, Hamisi Zaunga, Eric Rono, Mirriam Nthenya, Tonny Wabomba, Sammy Chahayo and Moses Ntoinya

The first count is conspiracy to defraud and its alleged that on diverse dates between January 1 2018 and March 31 2023 they jointly conspired to steal 166.5 M from Njiwa Sacco Ltd.

They were arraigned this morning before the Kahawa Law Courts but are yet to answer to the charges as their lawyers among them Danstan Omari made several applications to court including challenging the constitutionality of the charges.
