Two men have been charged with obtaining Ksh 5 million by false pretences after allegedly convincing a complainant that they could secure him a road construction contract.
Geoffrey Kipngetich Ngeno, alias Mr Kipkoech Kemboi, and Koffi Bill Atinda, alias Mogaka, are accused of jointly obtaining the money from Paul Onyango Omollo under the promise of awarding him a road contract. According to the charge sheet filed at Milimani Law Courts, the alleged offence occurred on September 8, 2026, along Rose Avenue in the Kilimani area of Nairobi County.
The prosecution alleges that the two men, together with other individuals who have not been brought before the court, falsely represented that they were in a position to secure the contract, a claim they allegedly knew to be untrue.
The charge was brought under Section 313 of the Penal Code, which deals with obtaining money or property by false pretences. Court documents indicate that Ngeno was arrested on October 3, 2026, while Atinda was arrested on October 4, 2026.
The two accused persons were released on a Ksh 300,000 cash bail or an alternative 1M bond. The court is expected to give further directions on the matter, with October 27 indicated as the next date.
