They were each released on a bond of Sh 2 M with 1 suerity or an alternative cash bail of Sh 1 M.

The prosecution had objected to their release on bail but the court ruled that there were no compelling reasons to deny them bail.

They have also been ordered to deposit their traveling documents in court pending determination of the matter.

The magistrate has further issued stop orders Stop orders at all boarder points.

The case will be mentioned March 13 for pre-trial.

They were jointly charged with conspiring to traffic cocaine where police claim that the two were conspiring to traffic cocaine into the country.

Muthoni was separately charged with drug trafficking and it was alleged that on February 21 at Baraka four square in Nanyuki, she trafficked 192 grams of cocaine valued at 769,840.

According to police reports, on February 21 officers while acting on intelligence information pursued wairimu who had just landed at JKIA from Qatar as she was suspected to have been trafficking drugs.

Police claim that on arrival at cod she boarded Nanyuki express cab services to Nanyuki to meet Muthoni.

She was then arrested in narumoru while in the company of Muthoni and were escorted to their houses and 11 pellets of drugs were recovered on Muthoni’s house in Nanyuki.

Muthoni is believed to be a mastermind in the international drug trafficking where through intelligence led investigations, she has been linked to recruitment of mules, facilitation of transport and trafficking of drugs where she is a mastermind in an active court matter involving 6747 grams of cocaine.

The state has opposed to their release on bail saying that it therefore in public Interest that the traffickers of these drugs are removed from society so that they do not continue poisoning the society in which they live.

The court will rule tomorrow whether they will be granted bail or not.
