Jeremiah Kioni now claims that the current government is attacking the Kikuyu community

Jubilee Party SG Jeremiah Kioni has sensationally claimed that the current Kenya Kwanza government is attacking the Kikuyu community.

While addressing journalists at the Milimani Law courts, Kioni said their community was under attack from the state due to harassment of senior citizens who have been charged with malicious damage over a disputed Eburru hills land.

Kioni was speaking after attending the hearing of the case where 25 senior citizens aged between 80 and 90 years were charged.

“We are under attack and don’t be cheated we are under attack and colleagues who are in bunge you were elected to defend Kenyans.” Kioni said.

Kioni further claimed that late president Daniel Moi’s regime tried grabbing the same land from the Kikuyu community when Benjamin Kulei claimed ownership of the land but did not succeed.

“I would like the world to see the 90 years old citizens accused of destroying president Ruto’s property, this is a trend of harassing people from Mt.Kenya, the same piece of land Moi regime tried to take the same land from these people, he did not succeed,” Kioni claimed.

Kioni accused the head of state of trying to take the said land from the said people and assured them the land will not be taken from them.

“Ruto now thinks that he can take it away from these people, we want to assure him he will not take it less of our dead bodies,” he said.

The 25 people charged in court include David Mwaura Wanjiru, Eliud Kinyanjui, John Maina. Julius Njoroge, Julius Kinyua, Elijah Mugwe, Hiram Ngatia, Daniel Njogu, George Kimani, Paul Maina, Joram Mogeni, Benjamin Mwangi, James ngugi, Joseph Macharia, Joshua Nyanyasi, Peter Kimani, Bernard Mwangi, James Makena, Ann Wanjiku, Ruth Wangui, Alvin Kamano, David Chege, James Gakinya, Ngugi Wanyeki, Njoroge Kungu.

It is alleged that on February 29, 2024 at Gathondia Village in Naivasha jointly damaged barbed concrete poles fence valued at Ksh 2.5 million the property of Eburru hills farm limited.
