A couple in Kawangware who teamed up to beat the baby daddy who asked about the child he had with the wife have been charged with assault.

Justus Mmera and Juliet Ouma were on Wednesday arraigned before a Kibera court where they denied assaulting the baby daddy Geoffrey Okuku.

According to the charge sheet, the couple jointly beat up Geoffrey Otieno Okuku on September 19 within Kawangware area in Nairobi County.

The couple denied the charge before Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi and asked the court to release them on reasonable bail terms.

According to police reports, Okuku was walking within Kawangware area when he spotted his former wife Juliet so he approached her to ask about their child.

However, Juliet was not amused with the questioning so she lost he cool and started beating her then she called her husband Mmera who also came and joined in beating up Okuku.

The prosecution did object to their release on bond and they were granted a cash bail of Sh10, 000 each with the surety of the same amount.

The case will be mentioned later this month for further directions.
