Driver of Moneyfest a Matatu Associated to President Ruto’s Son Charged.

The driver of popular Matatu Moneyfest which is associated George Ruto son to President William Ruto was on Friday charged before a Nairobi court with various traffic offenses.

Leonard Kituu was arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Eric Wambo and denied five counts ranging from obstruction, driving on the wrong lane,driving a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) without a uniform and refusing to obey police instructions.

It was alleged that on March 21, 2025, at about 0700hrs along Kenneth Matiba Road within the Nairobi being the driver of motor vehicle reg. No.KDQ 111T Make Isuzu minibus branded as “MONEY FEST 001”, he did obstruct or cause inconvenience to other road users by making a u-turn and driving on the wrong side.

He also charged with a second count of failing to obey directions given by a police officer.

The prosecution alleged that on the same date, at the same place, while driving MONEY fest he failed to obey the direction given by an officer in uniform while in line of duty.

According to police, he refused to drive back on the right side of the road continued to drive on the wrong side even after being instructed by a police officer.

It was also alleged that on the same date he drove MONEY fest,public service vehicle without a road service license.

He was also charged with a further count of operating a PSV without front identification plates contrary to Section 1211 of the Traffic Act.

The fifth count stated that on the same date he failed to wear a special public service uniform.

The charge sheet indicated that he wore a black t-shirt grey jumper and grey jeans.

Kituu denied the charges and was released on a Sh 50,000 cash bail.
