Matara Left Air BnB With Only a Blood Stained Towel After Killing Starlet.

The primary suspect John Matara who is charged with killing Starlet Wahu in cold blood left the Air BnB they had booked with only a towel that had blood stains.

Matara is facing murder charges for killing Starlet Wahu, the sister to pastor Kanyari on January 3, 2024 in an Air BnB they had booked.

In his testimony, Joseph Ndung’u, the caretaker of Solace Park Apartment where the murder happened told court that on that day, he a man believed to be Matara leaving the murder scene in the fateful night covered with a white towel stained with blood.

He said on that fateful night, he was seated on the veranda when he saw someone leaving the apartment with a blood stained towel.

He proceeded to tell the court that immediately he went to the apartment security guard and informed him that he had seen someone leaving the house with a towel round his neck.

The security then went to the CCTV when they with checked the footage they noticed that the man had come from the fourth floor of the building.

The court heard that upon arriving at the fourth floor the security guard and the caretaker followed stains of blood to room 32 where the body of Starlet Wahu was discovered.

Matara was formally charged on February 2, 2024, with the murder of the late starlet, a charge he has denied and the court denied him bond.

The case will proceed on July 28 and 30, 2025.
