It was alleged that on January 23, 2024 at Amara Wholesalers limited in Eastleigh within Nairobi City, they were found in possession of unaccustomed milk, valued at Sh 6,718,153.59

They were also charged with a second count on importing diary produce without valid permit issued by Kenya Dairy Board Regulations.

According to the police, the seven were arrested in Eastleigh, Nairobi following an undercover operation.

DCI says that they had some of their officers pose as buyers and made a deal with the suspects to buy milk products worth Sh 815,000.

The officers, who only had a down payment, are said to have requested the “furious sellers” to let them get the balance which provided leeway to call in other investigative teams and arrest the suspects.

They pleaded with Milimani Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi in Nairobi to grant them reasonable bail.

They were each released on a bond of Ksh 2 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000.
