The National Assembly has summoned businesswoman Ann Njoroge who is at the centre of the Sh 17 B oil cargo dispute.
In a letter to Njoroge, the National Assembly through clerk Jeremiah Ndombi has summoned Njoroge to appear before MPs on November 22.
The letter says she has been summoned for a meeting to shed light the ongoing Sh 17 billion disputed oil deal.
Njoroge will appear before the departmental committee on Energy so that she can explain to them her involvement in the fuel deal.
The committee says it has noted with concern the ongoing dispute over ownership of the oil consignment that has generated interest countrywide.
“The committee further notes that given the huge volumes involved and the resultant potential to distort the market, it would be prudent to accord you an opportunity to apprise the committee on the status,” the letter reads.
The MPs want Njoroge to explain the country of origin, indicators of pricing, the intended destination of the consignment, its place in the current government arrangement on oil importation.
She will also be required to to explain ownership by showing necessary documents to support her claim.
