Woman emotionally narrates how husband who suspected her of cheating assaulted her giving her permanent scars

A woman has today narrated to court how her husband of over ten years assaulted her causing her irreparable injuries for suspecting her of cheating on him.

Ann Gathoni was testifying in a case where her husband Daniel Muchiri has been charged with grievous harm

It is alleged that Muchiri on June 25 2023 at Ngotho in Dagoreti South within Nairobi he unlawfully did grievous harm to Ann Gathoni.

An emotional Gathoni told Kibera Senior Resident Magistrate William Tulele that the injuries caused by Muchiri has affected her to date and she is still going for therapy.

Gathoni a saloonist says on that day, at around 3 pm she was in the house with her niece who was in the bedroom while she was in the living room taking her lunch.

She told court that her husband walked into the house and he looked annoyed and became aggressive for no reason.

He accused her of sleeping outside because he allegedly went to the house early in the day and did not find her so he assumed she had slept out.

He went and took a glass jug which he used to hit her on the head and it broke then he took the glass pieces and used to but her hand with.

She screamed but her even her niece could not save her from the wrath of her husband who had now gone beserk.

The court heard that Muchiri then left the house after breaking all utensils and also their 43 inch TV.

She reported the matter to the police and Muchiri was arrested and charged with the offense of grievous.
