Politician Rose Mbithe, her two children and a police officer were on Thursday August 27th charged with the murder of late Dr. Victoria Mutiso.
However, they did not plead to the charges only the information contained in the charge sheet was read out to them.
Mbithe appeared in court alongside her two children Angela Mulwa, and Chris Mulwa who are both advocates and PC Elijah Kibelion Kimoi was also in court.
The four appeared before Justice Kanyi Kimondo at the Milimani Law Courts, where the murder charge was read to them.
Judge Kimondo directed that the four be taken for mental assessment before they are presented before Justice Alexander Muteti, where they are expected to formally answer to the murder charge.
The court further directed that PC Kibelion be provided with a probono lawyer after it emerged that he did not have a lawyer.
According to the charge sheet, the four killed Dr. Victoria Mutiso on July 29, 2026, at about 9:30 a.m. along Mawensi Road in Kilimani, Nairobi County.
According to the prosecution, the suspects allegedly acted jointly with other persons who have not yet been brought before the court.
The case will be mentioned on September 23 for plea taking.
