A man has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts with stealing 424 cartons of Gil Oil Bar Soap valued at KSh10.2 million. Ahmed Dawe Dime appeared before the court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing.
According to the court documents, Dime is accused of stealing the 424 cartons of Gil Oil Bar Soap on diverse dates between December 24, 2025, and May 16, 2026, at Moyale Wholesellers Limited stores along North Airport Road in Embakasi Sub-County, Nairobi County.
The prosecution alleges that Dime, jointly with others who have not been charged before court, dishonestly stole the goods belonging to Hussein Hirbo Galcha. Dime is charged with stealing contrary to Section 268(1), as read with Section 275 of the Penal Code. He also faces an alternative charge of handling stolen goods, contrary to Section 322(1)(2), as read with Section 3 of the Penal Code.
The alternative charge alleges that on May 18, 2026, at Moyale Trading Centre in Moyale County, Dime dishonestly received and retained the 424 cartons of Gil Oil Bar Soap, knowing or having reason to believe that they were stolen goods.
After denying the charges, Dime was released on a KSh1 million bond or an alternative cash bail of KSh400,000, with two contact persons. The matter will be mentioned on September 17, 2026, for pre-trial directions.
