A man has been arrested in Kajiado County after the body of his 34-year-old wife was discovered buried in a shallow grave at their farm in Entarakuet, Isinya, in a suspected murder that detectives are investigating.
The suspect, identified as Shon David Rabassa Kioko, was arrested alongside his farmhand, Ndayishimiye Deo, a Burundian national who allegedly alerted authorities to the incident.
According to preliminary investigations, Deo reported that his employer had allegedly killed his wife, Farida Peter Sangka, before instructing him to assist in burying her body in a shallow grave at the farm. The report prompted detectives in Isinya to launch investigations and proceed to the property to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Upon arriving at the scene, detectives arrested Kioko and Deo for questioning as they began gathering evidence relating to the suspected murder and the alleged concealment of the body. Police officers secured the scene as investigators initiated the process of recovering the deceased’s remains for further examination.
The body was subsequently exhumed in the presence of a pathologist, officials from the Ministry of Health and police officers to facilitate forensic investigations and help establish the circumstances under which the woman died.
Following the exhumation, the remains were transferred to Nairobi Funeral Home, where they were placed in preservation as arrangements were made for a postmortem examination. The examination is expected to assist investigators in determining the cause of death and provide additional information that could help establish what happened to Sangka before her body was buried.
Meanwhile, Kioko and Deo remain in police custody as detectives pursue further investigations into the incident. Investigators are seeking to establish the full sequence of events leading to the woman’s death, including the circumstances surrounding the alleged burial of her body at the family farm.
