The court empathized with his current situation and released him on a personal bond of Sh 3 million meaning he will only have to sign a commitment that he will indeed attend court throughout the hearing of the case.

Early this week, Kairo had asked court to release his passport to him so that he could attend a crowdfunding event in the US.

Magistrate Onyina in released the passport to Kairo, saying that although the prosecution had objected to the said release, the accused person rights including freedom to movement that should not be limited.

“The accused herein has been travelling outside the country and has always returned, there’s no fear that he will not return to the country should the passport be released. The application for the release of the passport is hereby allowed,” the court ruled.

The court directed Kairo to return the passport to court upon jetting back to the country.

Hearing of the case will be on May 26, 2025.
