10 bouncers from House and Grill Club who are alleged to have attacked journalists during a raid at their establishment have been charged with assault.
The 10 were charged with assault and unlawfully selling Shisha at their club which is against the law.
Those charged include Albanus Luseno, Charles Otieno, Bramuel Ngosane, Joseph Mwai, Daniel Kaka, Iddi Onyango, Daniel Mburu, Antony Ndune, Emmily Awuor, Elizabeth Malesi and Sospeter Onyango m.
It was alleged that the 10 accused persons on January 5, 2024 being security guards at Kettle House Bar and Grill along Muthagari Road assaulted Jane Mogoiri Kibira a KBC Journalist who was among a team of NACADA enforcement.
They were further charged that on the same dat at Kettle House Bar and Grill located in Muthangari Nairobi County they assaulted Standard Media Group Journalists and two police officers who were among a team of Nacada enforcement thereby occasioning them actual body harm.
They denied the charges before magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and pleaded not guilty to various criminal charges.
They were released on Sh 30,000 each and court directed the matter to be mentioned on January 24.
The court has issued warrant of arrest against 10 other suspects who failed to appear in court today for purposes of taking plea.
