An American man who was arrested and has been detained over Narcoterrorism has asked a Nairobi court to deport him back to his country saying he is tired of Kenyan prison.

Antoine Kassis told Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina that he was tired of staying in Kenyan police cell and wanted to go back home.

Kassis has been under detention of the Anti-Narcotics unit pending the filing, hearing and determination of his extradition proceedings to the United States of America to face the criminal charges.

He was indicted together with his accomplices who are still at large for the offences of Narcoterrorism and money laundering under US Code.

On the basis of his Indictment, the United States District Court issued an international warrant against him dated February 4, 2025.

He was arrested and arraigned before Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Court in Nairobi where the police requested for 21 days to complete filing the repatriation documents.

After the lapse of the 21 days police officers moved the Court for a second time seeking additional 14 days to finalize the repatriation process.

However, Kassis objected to the application saying he has already overstayed in remand cells and that his deteriorating health demands that he be allowed to fly back to America.

Magistrate Onyina gave police seven days to finalize the process and have the suspect extradited back to his country.
