City Lawyer Danstan Omari has asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to order investigations into attempted theft of Sh 74.3 million from Stayonline Ltd accounts by two lawyers representing Kirimi Koome.
Yesterday, the high court had given a ruling handing back Stayonline Ltd back to Rwandese investor Desire Muhinyuza as the beneficial owner and not Koome who had taken the company forcefuly from him.
However, Koome’s lawyers Omwanza Nyamweya and Ivy Ateko have produced a consent claiming that they entered into an agreement with Stayonline for payment of Sh 74.3 million as their legal fees.
In a letter to the DPP, Omari wants the DCI to the directed to investigate the alleged attempted theft as soon possible.
Omari claims that the said consent was obtained fraudulently by the three parties saying Justice Alfred Mabeya’s orders have since restored the company back to Desire.
“Our client is extremely apprehensive that unless your goof office moves with speed and directs the IG to investigate the glaring fraudulent activities and conspiracies to defraud and steal, our client shall lose monies amounting to Sh 74,300,000 which belongs to Merchants who have in the past utilized our client’s platform” the letter reads.
