Former cop stuns with document analysis report generated by an insect-analyzing machine

A former DCI officer shocked the court when he produced a document examination report in a civil matter which he used a machine used for analyzing insects to analyze.

Daniel Gutu was testifying in a case where Kenyan businessman Kirimi Koome has been accused of fraudulently claiming ownership of Rwandese Investor Desire Muhinyuza’s techfirm StayOnline Ltd.

Gutu was testifying in support of Koome’s case but was at pains to explain why he used the said microscope to analyze signatures.

Gutu confirmed to Justice Alfred Mabeya that he indeed used a stereo microscope nexus zoom 190 to examine signature specimen when in essence it’s used to examine insects.

Desire’s lawyer Danstan Omari further put him to task to explain why he used the said machine when he knows that it’s a Video spectra comparita 6000 that’s used for it.

Gutu said that when he was at the DCI before resigning he was using a video spectra but he could not explain why he used a microscope for the report.

Gutu could not also explain why he used a photocopy and not an original as is stipulated in law which he failed to do.

Yesterday, Koome was put to task to explain how he owns StayOnline which he claims is his company yet he does not know operations of the company.

The court is expected to give a ruling on Tuesday next week which will bring to end the dispute on who the the beneficial owner of StayOnline is.
