The woman who was caught on CCTV escaping from late Nairobi Hospital Finance officer after stabbing him 25 times has pleaded guilty to the murder.
Anne Adhiambo Ouma pleaded guilty to killing Eric Maigo in his house in Woodley estate on September 15.
Adhiambo told Justice Kanyi Kimondo that it was indeed true that she killed Maigo.
The charges were read to her in Swahili and in response she said ‘Ni Kweli’.
Justice Kimondo read out the charge to her two more times and she said it was true.
The judge then cautioned her by telling her if she was aware of the death sentence penalty and she said she was aware.
Judge Kimondo then deferred the plea to next month to allow her time to consult with her lawyers further to see if she will change her plea or not.
The case was adjourned to November 8 before Kibera High Court judge Diana Kadveza.
Adhiambo has been remanded at Langata Women Prison pending plea taking.
Her lawyer had asked the court to remand her as a juvenile claiming her birth certificate states that she is 17 years.
However, the prosecution insisted that she was an adult based on assessment done by the doctors who examined her.
