A suspected burglar who allegedly broke into a house on Muchai Drive and stole Mercedes Benz remote was on Monday charged with stealing items valued at Sh 50,000 from the house.
It is alleged that he broke into a residence in the Sun View estate on Muchai Drive and various items, including a Mercedes Benz remote valued at Sh 50,000.
Rodwel Ballon Ogunya is alleged to have broken into the house and made away with two flash disks worth Ksh 1,000, a Samsung mobile charger valued at Ksh 2,000, and the high-value Mercedes Benz remote.
The prosecution claimed that the stolen items were later found in Rodwel’s possession.
He denied the charges and also claimed that he was harassed and mistreated during his arrest.
He told the court that the complainant, accompanied by others, assaulted him, causing injuries to his head and chest.
He pleaded with the court to issue an order for the police to take him to hospital.
The court directed the Rodwel to be released on Sh 100,000 cash bail.
