Popular alleged drug dealer “Mathe Wa Ngara,” whose real name is Nancy Indoveria, suffered a setback on Tuesday when a court denied her bail, citing her status as a repeat offender.

Indoveria was charged alongside two co-accused, David Ochieng and Christopher Ochieng, with trafficking cannabis valued at Sh 5.6 million. This charge comes just months after she had been released on bail in a separate case where she faced similar drug trafficking charges.

The court ruled that the prosecution had provided compelling reasons to deny Indoveria bail, emphasizing her repeated offenses. However, her two co-accused were granted bond at Sh 1 million each.

The case is set for mention on September 23 for a pre-trial hearing. Indoveria has pleaded not guilty to two counts: trafficking narcotics and conspiracy to traffic narcotics.

According to the charges, Indoveria and her co-accused were allegedly found trafficking 189,300 grams of cannabis valued at Sh 5,679,000 on various dates between August 8 and 9 at Georgina Apartments in the Mastore area, Juja.

The prosecution strongly opposed bail for Indoveria, informing the court that she is a repeat offender who had already been convicted at Kahawa Law Courts for drug trafficking. They further argued that Indoveria has an ongoing criminal case at the JKIA Law Courts and has continued to traffic cannabis while out on bond.
