Through Lawyer Danstan Omari, Ocharo wants the court to revoke all the arbitrary transfers executed in violation of the Service Standing Orders.

On Monday Justice Nduma Nderi issued orders prohibiting further arbitrary transfers of all the said cops without due process.

Omari says his client had been approached by the police officers who are serving in
Narok East Sub County, to represent their grievances arising from arbitrary transfers.

According to court documents, on January 16, 2025, a non-injury accident involving livestock occurred along
the Narok-Mai Mahiu highway, resulting in the death of 25 sheep.

After the accident, members of the local community protested and barricaded the highway, demanding immediate compensation for the killed animals thus officers from the Narok East Sub County Command responded to the protest.

However, atempts to calm them were unsuccessful, leading to confrontations where tear gas
and blank ammunition were used to disperse the protesters.

It is alleged that during the confrontation, several officers were injured, including one officer
whose arm was severed and another who suffered a deep head wound.

The National police service and IG who have been sued the proceeded to issue mass transfer orders
targeting officers involved in the incident.

Ocharo argues that These transfers were abrupt, punitive, and failed to comply with the Service Standing Orders.

“THAT the affected officers, some of whom were still recovering from injuries, were not given adequate notice, facilitation, or consideration of their medical and family situations,” reads court papers.

He also argues that the abrupt transfers have disrupted the education of the officers kids and
children are being forced to drop out of school

During the confrontation, multiple officers sustained injuries, including Ip Sarah Wavinya fracture on the left leg, Pc Isaya Kagiri chop off his left hand with a maasai sword and deep cut on the head, Pc Erickson Koech injury on the left hip joint and Samuel Kiplagat injury on the left ear.

Others are Cpl Peris Nchore injury on the fore face.

“The Respondents subsequently issued mass transfer orders affecting the officers involved
in handling the protests, many of whom were still recovering from their injuries,

He says that affected officers were not provided with facilitation or allowances to support their
relocation, resulting in significant financial and logistical challenges that
