Supreme Court has today declined to hear Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi days after the court banned him from ever appearing before them.
The court wrote to Abdullahi last week banning him from ever appearing before them for consistently insulting the court and judges.
“It is the decision of this Court, that henceforth and from the date of this Communication, you shall have no audience before the Court, either by yourself, through an employee of your law firm, or any other person holding brief for you, or acting pursuant to your instructions,” read the letter.
Even though he was barred, Abdullahi appeared in virtual court before six judges but he was denied audience.
In the case, he is representing a family in a legal battle over a Sh 2 billion land case with the family of the late president Daniel Moi.
Chief justice Martha Koome said that they will not proceed with the matter if Abdullahi or any other lawyer watching his brief was on the platform.
In a tweet, the lawyer has maintained that he will not appear in that court as long as CJ Koome, DCJ Philomena Mwilu, Smokin Wanjala and Njoki Ndungu are judges of the Supreme Court Kenya.
Abdullahi says he will only go back to the Court if and when Justices Ibrahim Mohammed, Isaac Lenaola, William Ouko and other new members constitute a majority in the Supreme Court.
