Suspended Bomas CEO Peter Koria is set to be charged with several counts related to procurement irregularities worth over Sh 8.5 Million.
The DPP on Friday said Koria was found to have engaged in procurement irregularities in the award of kitchen items, plates, cutlery and cups which were not factored in the Bomas of Kenya budget and procurement plan for the financial year 2020/2021.
Among the charges he is facing include willful failure to comply with law relating to procurement by engaging in procurement process without an approved budget.
It is also alleged that he failed to comply with the law relating to procurement by failing to establish an Adhoc Inspection and acceptance committee.
However, his lawyer Danstan Omari says it’s a tribal persecution.
“After I returned him to office he reported yesterday then today he is arrested. The state is hell bent to sacrifice him,” Omari says
