Police asked the court to detain them in custody for 21 days to allow them complete investigations into the incident

In the application filed in court, police say they were arrested on suspicion of having committed the offense of murder following the death of a pupil at their school.

It is alleged the matter was reported at Buruburu police station by the director Jane Kimani that one 13 year old pupil had committed suicide by jumping off the 8th floor and landed on the balcony of the first floor.

“After police visited the scene, they established that the minors body had injuries on the left side of the fore head and right leg raising doubt on the possible case of suicide,” reads court papers.

Police told court that they were arrested on suspicion of having committed the offense of murder following the death of a pupil at their school

However, Lawyer Danstan Omari strongly opposed their further detention for 21 days arguing it was a long time to keep the suspects in cell.

The trial Magistrate Kituku directed the matter to be mentioned tomorrow at 2.30 when he will deliver the ruling on whether he will allow the application by the state.
