Nyamira County Assembly Majority Leader Elijah Osiemo has passed away in a grisly road accident along the Maai Mahiu-Naivasha Road.
At the time of the untimely accident, the late Osiemo MCA Nyamaiya was in the company of two other MCAs namely Duke Masira MCA Township Ward and Priscilla Nyatichi who are in hospital receiving treatment.

In a statement issued this evening, Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo sent his condolences to the family of Osiemo saying the county has lost a young, industrious, talented and focused leader.
He has also wished the two other MCAs quick recovery as they continue receiving treatment at the Naivasha level five hospital.
Other leaders who have sent condolences to Osiemo’s family include West Mugirango MP Stephen Mogaka, City Lawyer Danstan Omari and Kisii politician cum lawyer Cliff Ombeta.

Lawyer Omari says he has spoken to Masira who is his MCA and he has confirmed that he suffered a dislocation on one of his hands but has a lot of chest pains.
Omari says both MCAs are being transferred to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi for further medical check-up.
“I have talked to hon Duke Masira the MCA township ward using hon Ben Momanyi phone he confirms he is stable but his hand dislocated and has severe chest pains. They are being transferred to Agha Khan hospital Nairobi. Let’s put him in prayers,” Omari said.
