A court has granted the prosecution a final adjournment in the case of a senior Directorate of Criminal Investigations officer accused of killing his wife in Roysambu.
The officer, Daniel Macharia, is alleged to have fatally stabbed his wife at their home along Lumumba Drive before later surrendering to police in Naivasha.fatally stabbed his wife at their home along Lumumba Drive before later surrendering to police in Naivasha.
The matter came up for mention at Makadara Law Courts before Hon. B.M. Kimemia, with the accused present in court.
The prosecution told the court that the case file has been with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions since April 17, 2026, and sought one week to issue further directions.
The court allowed the request, stating that it would be the final adjournment in the matter.
During the session, the defence led by Danstan Omari renewed an application for bail and bond, citing the accused’s medical condition and readiness to comply with court terms.
The court noted that the application had already been considered and bond terms issued.
Macharia had been granted a bond of Ksh 5 million with two suretiesKsh 5 million with two sureties of a similar amount, or in the alternative, a cash bail of Ksh 1.5 million.
The case will be mentioned on April 27, 2026, when the prosecution is expected to give its final position.
