The late Jeff Mwathi was half naked when first responders found his body lying on the ground a few minutes after it fell from 10th floor of redwood apartments by security guards.
Mwathi died under mysterious circumstances when he had gone to popular DJ Fatxo’s apartment earlier only to be found hours later dead at the parking lot.
Two security guards who were working the night shift on that fateful day told the inquest that at around 5.40 am they heard a loud thud and upon checking saw that an unidentified man had fallen down.
George Kamau and Abdalla Wakhutu both testified that when they saw him his trousers were down to his knees but he had a Tshirt on but was naked from waist to the knees.
They also confirmed that they didn’t see him with a belt when they first saw him only noticed that the trousers were down to his knees.
The court also heard that Jeff’s head had been smashed and his brain had splashed across the ground where he was lying.
They informed the caretaker who called management and police were later called to collect the body and further investigations.
Upon cross examination, Kamau told Jeff’s family lawyer Danstan Omari that indeed he did find the deceased half naked.
Omari asked him if someone with trousers hanging at his knees could make a step or even jump of a building or climb a building to which he responded that it was impossible.
