The Late Tecra Muigai’s brother James Muigai has told court that he was shocked the first time his sister introduced Omar Lali to him as her boyfriend.
Peter said the shock was because of the gap in age since he was old and his sister was much younger.
He further testified that if he were to advise her then he would have discouraged her from that relationship with Lali.
James said their parents never approved of that relationship and at one time he was sent to go to Lamu to tell her to go back home but she refused.
“My sister was very defensive and a lot changed in her life, she wanted the family to approve of the relationship and she would say with or without her family she would still be with Lali,” he said.
He said that Tecra used to tell them that Lali was a prophet and not a normal man.
James told court that his late sister had a good job but she left if suddenly when she started dating Lali adding that Tecra changed a lot.
“Tecra had a job and all of a sudden when she got Lali she changed, I felt like he was more of controlling Tecra, she was happy with her job in Naivasha,” he said.
