Betting company Betika has been ordered to pay a gambler who predicted 8 matches correctly his Jackpot of Sh 500,000 that they had refused to pay.

Betika has refused to pay David Juma the money claiming he did not predict all matches correctly as it should be.

However, in his ruling Resident Magistrate Edward Oboge said Juma had adduced evidence that showed that he predicted all the eight matches correctly dismissing the defense by Betika that he predicted seven.

Juma had filed the case before the Nakuru small claims court saying that Betika had refused to pay him his jackpot even though he had correctly predicted eight matches on February 17, 2023.

Oboge further ruled that Betika had betrayed Juma’s trust by attempting to deny him the Jackpot.

The court further ruled that the evidence produced by Juma confirmed his claim that he won eight bets, only one which was in dispute-the match between FC Juarez and Leon, which FC Juarez won thus he predicted correctly.

Oboge also poked holes in Betika’s defence noting that the the match between Publa and Cruz Azu was played on February 18, as shown by Juma and not on February 17, as had been claimed by betting firm.

“After a successful investigation of the facts, I have found that the match between Publa and Cru Azul was played on February 18, as correctly predicted and that FC Juare and Leon drew in the Mexican league; therefore, I reject the defendant’s claim that all the matches on which bets were placed were played on February, 17,” the court ruled.
