The 12 include Nicodemus Masea, Amos Kipchumba, Caren Chebet, Karen Jepkemoi, Daniel Mberia, Violet Wali, Hamis Zaunga, Eric Rono,Mirriam Nthenya, Tony Muliro, Sammy Afubwa and Moses Mwenda.

There were separately charged with the other 222 counts of forgery and stealing from the sacco.

The accused denied all the counts that were read out to the from the 57-page chargesheet.

Through their lawyers, they asked the court to release them on reasonable bond terms pending trial.

The Kahawa Law court ordered for a pre-bail report to be prepared and presented to court before he can give a ruling on bail.

The case will be mentioned October 9 and the bail ruling will be on October 16 when the accused will know whether they will be granted bail or not.

The only accused granted bail was Mirriam Nthenya who fell ill and the court ordered her to be admitted at Aga Khan and granted her Sh 10 million personal bond.

The defence had opposed the long chargesheet saying it was an embarrassment to the accused personal.

However, the court admitted the chargesheet that had been approved by the DPP.
