Rose Mbithe Mulwa, one of the seven accused persons in the murder case involving Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, has told the court that Karen is their only home as she disputed plans by probation officers to conduct community inquiries in Machakos ahead of the bail ruling.
Mbithe expressed frustration after the probation officer informed the court that the pre-bail reports were not ready because inquiries had been sent to Machakos, Bomet and Baringo to gather information about the accused persons’ social backgrounds.
“We want to go home. Machakos is not our home. We left Machakos a long time ago. Our only home is Karen,” Mbithe told the court.
She further said she left Machakos in 1969 and that her children had never lived there.
“I left Machakos in 1969, nobody knows me. My children have never lived in Machakos. Our only home is Karen,” she said.
The court directed the Probation Department to file the pre-bail reports for all seven accused persons on or before November 16, 2026.
The bail ruling is scheduled for December 3, 2026.
The accused persons are facing murder charges over the killing of Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso on July 29, 2026, along Mawensi Road in Kilimani, Nairobi.
