In the case, the officers through Lawyer Danstan Omari secured orders stopping their suspension pending hearing of the case against them.

Koskei ordered for their suspension following a report by EACC saying they are suspected to be corrupt.

However, in the circular by county commanders to all police stations, says in compliance with conservatory orders issued by Justice Chacha Mwita, the Deputy Inspector General, KenyaPolice had ordered immediate withdrawal of any action taken against any of the officers.

“The affected officers to be engaged on duties as
usual unless prevented by any other legal reasons.
Subject to further directions on the subject matter by this headquarters, no administrative action shall be taken pursuant to the EACC’s letter,” the letter reads.

This comes even as several of the 67 officers received suspension letters from their station heads suspending them as directed by Koskei.

But, this letter now renders those letters null and void and the officers can continue with their job pending hearing of the case they filed.
