Koome was arrested today after escaping the police dragnet for a while.

In his statement, Muhinyuza says they are happy that justice has been given.

“This gives us the courage to take things forward to work even harder. We would like to thank everyone who has been by our side until now,” he said.

He thanked the Kenya government through its different institutions, mainly the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, which he says has shown great professionalism in their work since their first complaint to date .

He has also said all these could not have been possible without their most trusted bank UBA and its great leadership that have safeguarded their merchants’ funds with wisdom and extra care throughout the investigation.

“We were not wrong when we chose UBA bank as our preferred bank to work with throughout Africa. Now, we will be able to expand in southern and western Africa quickly as per our initial plans with them,” he said.

Muhinyuza also thanked the Rwanda leadership for always encouraging businesses to think big and scale beyond our borders, taking advantage of available opportunities not only in this great East African community but also throughout Africa in general.

Further thanking the Rwanda embassy in Kenya for the support and encouragement that has kept them going.

Lastly he praised his lead lawyer Danstan Omari and his team for fighting a hard battle.

“Kenya is a great country with great people, investors should just be careful in their due diligence and vetting to avoid unnecessary challenges. It’s now time to get back to work and do business as it should.” he said
