The Senate Ad gov committee will summon Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to explain why he cancelled pastor Ezekiel Odero’s crusade at the last minute without an explanation.

This is after the committee that is investigating the Shakahola deaths visited the Kilifi county commissioner to get answers after the pastor brought it to their attention.

The committee was in Mavueni for the better part of the day to tour the church and get to see what goes on there.

On Friday, when Odero appeared before the Senate he told them that the county police boss had abruptly stopped the crusade even after giving him a permit to proceed with it.

He told the senators that the police boss had told him that they were orders from the president and the interior CS.

However, when the committee visited the county commissioners office on Monday he was at pains to explain why they stopped the crusade.

The committee wanted to know the reason why it was stopped even though there was a valid permit allowing the crusade.

They also questioned why the Malindi crusade was stopped while there was another crusade allowed to proceed in Mombasa with no issues.

They further asked what security threat a crusade would bring as had been alleged.

The issue of who would pay the pastor for costs incurred for the crusade since he ran into loss in millions that he had used to prepare for the mega crusade.

Kindiki is expected to answer this questions when he appears before senate.
