A Tanzanian man who laid claim to a former pepsi director’s estate who is now deceased after dying mysteriously in the US was on Thursday charged with interfering with the late man’s properties.
William Alfred Mulwa Mutilangi died in the US in 2023 and thereafter Bakari Malanda the Tanzanian laid claim over his properties in Kenya.
It is alleged that on unknown dates in Nairobi, Malanda interfered with a residence in the Green Park estate by occupying it illegally and without express authority while not acting as the deceased’s administrator.
Malanda denied the charge before Magistrate Benard Ochoi and was released on a 100,000 cash bail.
According to police records, Malanda claims he is the legitimate heir to Mulwa’s properties which are estimated at over Sh 500 million.
However, the late Mulwa’s family led by his siblings have refuted the claim saying they don’t know who Malanda is to be claiming for a stake on their late brothers properties.
