The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has officially unveiled the lineup and key details of its much-anticipated Annual Conference 2025, set to take place from August 12 to 16 at the Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in the coastal county of Kwale.

This year’s theme, “Protecting Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law: Ensuring Accountability,” underscores the legal fraternity’s renewed commitment to defending Kenya’s democratic ideals amidst evolving socio-political challenges.

The conference will be graced by Chief Justice Martha Koome, who will serve as Chief Guest. Justice Koome, also the President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, is expected to set the tone for the week-long deliberations on matters of constitutional fidelity, judicial independence, and public accountability.

LSK President Faith Odhiambo and Vice President Mwaura Kabata will lead the Society’s executive team, alongside Florence Muturi, the Chief Executive Officer of the LSK, in facilitating the extensive panel sessions, workshops, and plenaries that define the prestigious legal gathering.

Among the headline keynote speakers are Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, whose expertise in governance and continental development will provide a macroeconomic lens to the rule of law discussions.

Prof. Migai Akech a renowned legal scholar and Inaugural Professor of Law at the University of Nairobi School of Law is also lined up as a keynote speaker who is expected to provide deep insights into public interest litigation, constitutional design, and legal accountability.

The 2025 Annual Conference promises to be a defining moment for Kenya’s legal profession, offering a timely platform for critical reflection, legal innovation, and national dialogue on the role of law in an increasingly complex governance landscape.
