Rose Mbithe, her daughter Angela Mulwa and son Chris Mulwa will remain in police custody until August 27, 2026, when they are expected to be formally charged with the murder of Dr. Victoria Mutiso.

The three have been in police cells for several weeks following their arrests in connection with the brutal killing of Dr. Mutiso, who was allegedly murdered on July 29, 2026.

Their continued detention comes as investigators finalise preparations for the trio to face formal murder charges in court.

Mbithe, Angela and Chris are suspected of involvement in the circumstances surrounding Dr. Mutiso’s death, although they remain suspects until the prosecution presents its case before a court of law.

The August 27 date is expected to mark a major development in the case, with the three suspects likely to be arraigned and formally charged with murder.

The case has attracted significant attention as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding Dr. Mutiso’s death and establish the role, if any, played by each of the suspects.

According to the Kenyan Law, until they are formally charged and the court convicts them, the three remain entitled to the presumption of innocence.

The suspects’ lawyers have previously challenged aspects of their continued detention, while the prosecution has maintained that more time was required to complete investigations before presenting the case for formal prosecution.
