Detectives have arrested a second suspect linked to a robbery in Parklands, Nairobi, that was captured in a widely circulated video showing a member of the public being attacked and robbed.
The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Akolo, alias Murife, was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation in the Deep Sea slums within the Parklands-Highridge area.
According to investigators, intelligence gathered during the ongoing probe connected Akolo to the violent incident, which sparked public concern after footage of the attack spread online.
His arrest follows the earlier apprehension of another suspect in connection with the robbery. Detectives believe another alleged accomplice remains at large as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and track down those still being sought.
Akolo is being held in custody as detectives complete the necessary procedures ahead of his arraignment in court.
