A Bungoma court has sentenced Lameck Wamalwa Juma to death after finding him guilty of robbery with violence involving a motorcycle valued at Sh265,630.
The court heard that on January 29, 2026, Juma, alongside accomplices who are yet to be arrested, robbed Collins Munialo Ndiema of his TVS 125cc motorcycle, registration number KMGU 700M, at Chwele Sub-location. The assailants were armed with offensive weapons and used actual violence during the robbery.
In a judgment delivered on October 5, 2026, Chief Magistrate W\.J. Gichimu found that the prosecution, led by Counsel Wycliffe Minishi, had proved the case through the testimony of six witnesses.
The complainant told the court that Juma had initially hired him to ferry him to Marina Resort. Along the way, another individual joined them and directed him to a dark area, where he was struck on the head with a piece of wood fitted with nails, causing him to lose consciousness. Investigations aided by a tracking device led detectives to recover some motorcycle parts at Juma’s house in Chwele Market. The complainant also identified Juma as the person who had hired his motorcycle before the attack.
In determining the sentence, the court considered the severity of the offence, the injuries sustained by the complainant, the failure to recover the motorcycle and Juma’s previous criminal record before imposing the death sentence.
