The hearing of the case where a woman based in the US is seeking to be recognised as one of Simeon Nyachae’s wives and get a stake in his estate has been adjourned.
In the case, Margaret Chweya has contested the last will of the late minister saying she is a wife and has three children with him.
The matter was coming up for hearing today but Chweya’s lawyer Danstan Omari and Wycliffe Omayio told court that they had only been served with new affidavits in the morning and needed time to go through them.
Justice Eric Ogola allowed them time to prepare for the case and fixed the hearing date for January 23 next year.
Among the new affidavits filed in court include affidavits from two men who claim to have been married to Chweya and are fathers to her two sons.
In the said documents they have included family pictures during the time they were together and receipts of bills they paid.
