The High Court in Nairobi has temporarily stayed the Tribunal’s decision suspending Nicco Movers Limited’s licence, handing the transport company interim relief until September 22, 2026.
This is after Nicco movers through Lawyer Danstan Omari moved to the high court a day after the tribunal suspended their license.
Justice Janet Mulwa issued the orders on Wednesday after Nicco Movers moved to the High Court challenging the decision delivered on August 31, 2026.
The court certified Nicco Sacco’s application as urgent and directed that it be served on the respondents within 24 hours. The respondents have seven days to file their responses.
Justice Mulwa stayed the execution of the Tribunal’s judgment and its consequential orders until September 22, when the court will issue further directions.
The stay means the Tribunal’s decision suspending Nicco Movers’ licence cannot be enforced for now, pending further orders from the High Court.
