Relief for Senator Lemaletian as Court Bars Estranged ‘Boyfriend’ From Harassing Her Online.

Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian got temporary relief after a Nairobi court barred Musa Hussein Lenyumpa from harrassing her, contacting her, using her image, or publishing information about her on social media.

In her case, the legislator had argued that the two were only in a Samburu customary courtship process, which she later revoked. She says no dowry was ever paid, stressing that the Sh 100,000 “ropiyani e loip” he gave was merely a token under Samburu tradition and has since been returned in full.

In his ruling, Magistrate F. Terer granted temporary relief to the senator.

Musa has been barred from Assaulting, harassing, threatening, or interfering with Lemaletian’s well-being.

Further he is prohibited from Using her name, likeness, or image for personal or commercial gain or Publishing any information relating to her.

Musa has also been barred from Accessing her home or place of work pending hearing of her case against him.

In court documents filed in court, she claims that the harassment has affected her safety, privacy, and professional standing.

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, she has accused Musa of conduct that threatened her well-being and sought urgent court intervention of the court.

She has accused him of issuing death threats, physical violence, harassment, and spreading false claims that they are married.

The Senator alleges that Musa became physically abusive, once assaulting her to the point of causing a nosebleed, and has been using social media and bloggers to tarnish her reputation, threatening her safety and political career.

The matter is scheduled for inter partes hearing on September 22, 2025, where both parties will present their arguments before the court decides whether to extend or vary the orders.
