Senior Advocate Danstan Omari Demands Retraction and Apology From Obinna TV Over Defamatory Podcast Claims

Senior Advocate Danstan Omari has issued a legal demand to podcast host Steve Thompson Magana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, over what he terms as false, defamatory, and injurious statements aired on Obinna TV.

In a demand letter dated December 16, 2025, Omari, through his lawyers Wambui Shadrack & Associates Advocates, accuses Obinna of allowing and facilitating the publication of defamatory remarks during an interview with Adrian Oluoch Biko on Obinna TV, which was recorded on December 15 and aired on December 16, 2025 .

The lawyers state that during the podcast, the guest made repeated allegations insinuating that Omari is a corrupt and unprofessional advocate who knows how to bribe judicial officers and evade accountability. The letter says the claims were made without any evidence and were reckless, malicious, and deeply damaging to Omari’s reputation .

According to the demand, Obinna, as an experienced media personality, ought to have foreseen the impact of the statements but instead failed to stop them and allegedly encouraged their continuation, allowing the content to be broadcast and shared across multiple platforms including YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram, and Facebook .

Omari’s lawyers argue that the statements have caused irreparable harm to his professional standing, noting that he has built his career over more than a decade as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a lecturer at various law schools, a former children’s officer, a managing partner at a leading law firm, and a role model within the legal profession .

The demand letter requires Obinna to retract the statements, issue an unequivocal apology, and delete or pull down all related content from his platforms within twelve hours of receiving the letter. The retraction and apology, the lawyers insist, must be made with the same prominence and intensity as the original publication .

The advocates warn that failure to comply within the stipulated timeline will result in immediate legal action being instituted against Obinna, without any further notice, and at his own cost.
