Three medical officers from Walalaha Nursing Home were on Wednesday arraigned before a Nairobi court over allegations of defrauding the Social Health Authority (SHA) through falsified medical claims.
The officers Ibrahim Abdullahi, Abdi Bishar, and Abdullahi Dereow are accused of conspiring to defraud SHA of KSh179,200 between December 16, 2024, and June 26, 2025.
According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly submitted falsified inpatient claim forms to SHA, misrepresenting them as genuine medical documents to obtain payments unlawfully.
The prosecution further claimed that the suspects unlawfully benefited from proceeds of crime obtained through the fraudulent health claims.
They appeared before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina at the Milimani Law Courts, where they denied all charges. The court released each of them on a cash bail of KSh70,000 pending trial.
