Detectives have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal robbery and a separate stabbing incident reported in Lindi, Kibra, Nairobi County, on October 23, 2026.
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation in the Kingstone area of Lindi, where officers apprehended Abdizar Suleiman and Stephen Litari Hussein.
The investigations relate to two separate attacks that occurred in the morning as the victims were reportedly heading to work.
In the first incident, 49-year-old Jacob Odhiambo Alube was killed after assailants allegedly attacked him and stole his personal belongings, including his mobile phone. Police reports indicate that the attackers stabbed Alube in the chest and left thigh after he attempted to resist the robbery. He died at the scene.
Officers who arrived at the scene found his body lying in a pool of blood. Investigators also noted bloodstains several metres away, suggesting that a struggle may have occurred. Crime Scene Investigation officers examined the scene before the body was transferred to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
In a separate attack reported the same morning, 58-year-old Juma Jared sustained multiple stab wounds after allegedly being assaulted by two individuals.
Jared suffered injuries to his upper left arm, the left side of his chest and his lower left back. Members of the public took him to Mbagathi Hospital before he was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for further treatment. He was reported to be in fair and stable condition. Unlike the first incident, no property was reported stolen during the attack.
Following the incidents, detectives launched investigations to establish the circumstances of the attacks and identify the individuals responsible.
The two suspects remain in police custody as officers complete processing ahead of their expected arraignment in court.
The allegations against the suspects have not yet been tested in court.
