A fresh twist has now emerged in the murder investigations of late Nairobi Hospital Finance boss Eric Maigo as the teenager arrested for his death claims he raped her.
The 16-year-old girl who sat for her KCPE last year has allegedly told police that Maigo raped her leading her to stab him in self-defence.
The court has allowed police to detain the minor for 21 days to assist police with investigations and also to be taken for age assessment to ascertain her age.
According to the girl who stays approximately 5 blocks from Maigo, she had a quarrel with her mother who chased her from the house and when she went out, she met Maigo who picked her and took her to his house.
Speaking to the press, the young girl’s mother says they indeed had a misunderstanding and she told her to sit outside and wait.
The mother says later that night the girl came back in and even took her mattress to put it on the floor where she usually slept but she did not know when she left the house.
It was the next morning that she was informed by her other children that their sister was missing and she didn’t know where she had gone.
Maigo’s was found on September 15 lying in a pool of blood in his house in Woodley estate with 25 stab wounds.
